What Have I Been Eating?

yea, yea, i've been away from this blog for a couple weeks but it doesn't mean i've not been eating...with the Eating Partner away visiting his mama and me on the River for a bit i've just been all over the place food wise.

how's this for a salad:

leftover steak from Kool Beanz
leftover fresh onion rings that came with the steak
fresh sweet onion
arugula and mint from the garden
toasted walnuts
toasted bread cubes made from Tini's homemade loaf she sent me home with
dressing: fresh blue cheese vinaigrette

toss it, cut it and gobble it up...no photos 'cause i was too hungry.

down at the River House we did had some good eats as well. the Big Guy brought us some fresh fresh amber jack fish and i turned into a lovely coconut curry with rice and a terrific salad made with Tini's fresh tomatoes from her garden. so don't believe it when someone says that amber jack isn't worth eating...

now i am ready to make Italian crepes for Barbara...spinach filling most likely...

Still Eating!

yes, yes, i haven't posted anything for a while but i was just thinking about a couple meals i had recently and wanted to post a few photos...

the cabbage is still on my mind because tonite i had another round of sauteed cabbage and shredded brussels sprouts with a fried egg and crispy bacon...wow...but earlier when i made sort of a soup-stew with the same ingredients and sauteed chicken it was divine!

the other soup i had was made by robert a good neighbor from our special Truett Place. he makes killer chili and i'm not a lover of the traditional thick and chunky kind so when i saw his red and white chilies at a house party, without even tasting them yet, i knew because of the texture and colors that they would be good. outstanding samples of these tasty spicy treats for sure!

i barely was able to take this photo before gobbling it up...
